The Open Centre is an adult learning centre that provides a wide range of materials which are available for hire.
The Bishopsgate Institute is a reference library with a general reference section. They also boast an extensive archive section with collections on 19th century public health, the co-operative movement and eminent Victorians such as Charles Bradlaugh. A photocopying facility is also available.
The St Bride Printing Library has world-famous collections on the history of printing and related subjects such as graphic design and reproduction, engraving, illustration, binding, calligraphy and lithography. They have printing machines dating back to the 1800s. They also offer a printing and typography service.
Marx Memorial Library stocks an extensive collection of books on Marxism and Socialism. They often hold lectures here, but it is advisable to phone for details in advance.
Finsbury Library has a wide range of books, videos, CD’s and DVD’s that are available for hire. Internet access and adult education computer software packages are also available upon request.
