The British Library Book Shop focuses on all aspects of the history and making of books. The bookshop also reflects some of the collections and items seen in the exhibition galleries including illuminated manuscripts, music scores and stamp collections. Many of their items are exclusive to the British Library Book Shop. A delivery service is available upon request.

The Maghreb Bookshop sell a wide range of books on North Africa, the Arab world and Islam. A mail order service is also available. Opening times vary so please phone in advance.

Gay’s The Word was the first bookshop in Great Britain to be totally devoted to gay literature, and sells books on subjects including political, historical, philosophical and sexual perspectives on homosexuality.
